Vale Peter Shugg

SANFL is mourning the passing of distinguished League Life Member Peter Shugg.

Earning League Life Membership in 1986, Peter was a long-standing member, and chairman, of the SANFL Umpires board throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Displaying great versatility as an umpire, Peter officiated as in both the field and goal disciplines across various SANFL competitions between 1951 and 1962.

As a result, Peter was fittingly awarded SANFL Umpiring Association Life Membership following his retirement, in 1964.

SANFL extends its deepest sympathy to the Shugg family as it honours Peter’s outstanding service to the game in South Australia.
