Adelaide shocked West Adelaide with a blistering second-half surge to claim the Neil Kerley Memorial Trophy by 68 points at Adelaide Oval.

Playing in the curtain-raiser to the Crows v Bulldogs AFL match, the SANFL Crows piled on the pain for the Bloods after half-time as they booted 12.4 to just five behinds.

Adelaide forward Lachlan Gollant was a fitting winner of the Neil Kerley Memorial Medal as best afield, booting eight goals without a miss as he kept his side in the contest with a strong first half.

After kicking the opening major of the match, Gollant went on to register half of his game-breaking haul in a tight first half to keep his side within three points at the main change.

The Crows were providing him with plenty of opportunities as they finished with a significant 58-33 inside 50m count while also taking 26 more marks than the Bloods.

First-year Adelaide draftee Charlie Edwards produced his best SANFL performance with 31 disposals, nine clearances and a goal while experienced pair Harry Schoenberg and Brodie Smith each collected 26 disposals.

Ned McHenry tallied 24 disposals and seven marks while Billy Dowling responded well to his demotion by racking up 22 disposals and two goals.

Chris Burgess and Chayce Jones also joined Dowling in booting two majors for the Crows.

The Bloods had Callum Park use the ball out of the back half with 27 disposals while Brady Searle worked tirelessly for his 23 possessions, six marks and 12 tackles.

West goalsneak Josh Gore was his team’s only multiple goal kicker with two.

Port Adelaide ensured Woodville-West Torrens’ fight for fifth spot will go down to the wire with a spirited 44-point win at Alberton Oval.

Banking their fourth victory of the season, the Magpies swung the contest in their favour during the second stanza as they turned a 14-point deficit at the first change into a 12-point advantage at half-time.

The hosts then booted the only two majors of the third term – through Lachlan Charleson and Tom McCallum – while holding the Eagles to just four behinds as their scoring avenues dried up.

Condemning the Eagles to their sixth loss in succession, Hamish Hartlett’s charges powered away in the fourth quarter by booting five of the last seven goals in the match.

Boasting a sizeable inside 50 advantage of 53 to 37, the Magpies celebrated the 30th anniversary of their 1994 premiership against the Eagles in fine style.

Impressive first-year draftee Will Lorenz was a key contributor in Port’s win, finishing with 21 disposals and two goals as teammates Tom Anastasopoulos and Hugh Jackson tallied 23 touches each.

Tom Clurey was steady in defence with 20 disposals and seven marks while SANFL-contracted Cody Szust continued his encouraging season with 18 disposals and two goals.

Developing tall Tom Scully booted three goals for Port from 13 disposals and five marks as Ollie Lord, Lorenz and Szust kicked two majors.

Without a win since toppling Adelaide in Round 10, the Eagles are clinging on to fifth spot via a superior percentage as they are now joined by North Adelaide and Adelaide with a 7-9 win-loss record.

Experienced utility Sam Rowland led the Eagles statistically with 22 disposals and five marks while Josh Morris was again a reliable presence in defence with 19 touches.

James Rwoe and Joey Sinor each had 17 disposals for the visitors while Connor Ballenden and Nathan Barkla each kicked two goals.
