Port Adelaide’s Charlie Dixon has unsuccessfully appealed a three-match ban for rough conduct against West Adelaide’s Jordan White during the Round 10 match at Alberton Oval.
SANFL Appeals Commissioner The Hon. Michael David KC today upheld the SANFL Tribunal’s decision, with the Severe Impact classification of the incident deemed appropriate as White had suffered concussion as a result of the impact.
Mr David said that in his view, concussion was the “dividing line between a Severe and High” grading, and that the three-match sanction therefore should be upheld.
Dixon’s legal representation attempted to have the Severe Impact grading lowered to High, or otherwise for Mr David to take into consideration Dixon’s exemplary record over his 14-year career.
