Central District’s Travis Schiller hasn’t been gifted the easy route to his 100th Statewide Super League game.

The tenacious Bulldogs rover was forced to fight and scrap just to get his start in the best 21, playing 50 Reserves matches across three seasons before making his League debut in Round 1 2014.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 24-year-old says he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Standing just 173cm and 73kg, the younger brother of fellow Bulldog Jarrod Schiller has made a habit of hunting down the ball at the bottom of the packs.

A fixture at the top of the leading disposal-winners in the Statewide Super League, Schiller is averaging 29.8 touches per game in 2019.

As he approaches his milestone match against Adelaide at X Convenience Oval on Saturday, the  Physical Education teacher is desperate to share in the ultimate success with his older brother, whom he began his career with at the Nuriootpa Football Club.

And if Central’s No.28 continues his consistent form, there’s every chance he could claim the ultimate individual prize – the Magarey Medal – after being runner-up last year and winning the 2013 Reserves Magarey Medal with West’s Nick Homburg.
