Statewide Super thanked for game-changing contribution to football in SA

On Grand Final Day, SANFL will acknowledge Statewide Super and its contribution as outgoing naming rights partner of the SANFL State League competitions.

Statewide Super has partnered with the SANFL since 2016, holding the naming rights to the SANFL Statewide Super Women’s League since the competition’s inception in 2017.

Statewide Super also has been SANFL’s naming rights partner of the Mini-League competition and the Community Football Volunteer of the Year program.

In 2019, Statewide Super increased its support to SANFL by extending its partnership to the men’s State League competition.

SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said Statewide Super’s involvement in football had been a game changer, particularly in the growth and development of women’s football and ensuring the SANFL Statewide Super Women’s League became the best State League competition for females in the nation.

“Statewide Super’s support really was a springboard for the growth of female football in South Australia, providing the opportunity for women to play football at an elite State League level in South Australia,” Mr Chandler said.

“We acknowledge the outstanding support of Statewide Super which has extended far beyond our State League competitions, reaching into all levels of community football.

“SANFL Grand Final day will provide a timely opportunity to officially bid farewell to Statewide Super as naming rights partner of our State League competitions.

“We thank them sincerely for their ongoing passion and contribution to football in South Australia, even throughout one of the most challenging periods in the history of our game.”

Statewide Super Chief Executive Officer Tony D’Alessandro said the relationship with SANFL had been valuable to its members while creating opportunities for men, women and kids at all levels of the game.

“Statewide Super is a proud member of the South Australian business community with over 144,000 members, many based in South Australia like us,” Mr D’Alessandro said.

“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved over the past six years in South Australian footy and we wish SANFL and SANFL Women all the best for the future.”
