Don’t expect it to take long for Dean Gore to make an impact for the Sturt Football Club.

Returning to Unley for the first time since being drafted by Geelong at the end of 2014, the 23-year-old has already made his way into the Double Blues’ leadership group.

With senior premiership stars in Aidan Riley and John Greenslade no longer at Unley, Gore will have plenty of opportunity to become a vital cog in coach Nathan Grima’s midfield unit.

Strongly-built at 183cm and 84kg, Gore showed he was able to step into senior action as a teenager when he lined up in 12 games for his Draft year of 2014.

After spending two season’s with Adelaide’s SANFL team, where he logged 39 League matches across 2016 and 2017, the Hahndorf product has spent the past two seasons playing for Geelong’s VFL side.

Selected by SANFL Media Producer Zac Milbank, the 2020 Statewide Super League Top 50 is being unveiled one player at a time on the League’s website and social media channels.

Form across the 2019 season was used as a significant factor in the selection process, with those winning awards such as best-and-fairests, being selected in State squads and leadership groups also looked upon favourably.

Recruits to the Statewide Super League have also been included, with significant AFL experience another element in deciding the order of players.
