Coaching Courses and Workshops

The National Coach AFL Foundation Course is designed for entry level coaches and covers the general principles of coaching our game. This free coaching course takes about 90 minutes to compete and gains you access to the COACH AFL platform which is full of useful resources. Click on the link below to gain access.

The Elevate Workshops are the new and improved replacement for the Level 2 Course, offering a dynamic and hands-on learning experience. Each workshop is built around three core themes designed to deepen your coaching expertise:

• The Coaching Environment
• Coaching at Training
• Coaching the Game

2026 workshop dates are venues are as follows, feel free to select the workshop that suits you best

• Sunday 23rd November 2025 – 9.15am – 5.00pm - Nazareth College, 344 Findon Rd, Kidman Park SA 5025
• Sunday 1st February 2026 – 9.15am – 5.00pm - Footy Park Precinct - West Lakes
• Sunday 8th February 2026 – 9.15am – 5.00pm - Footy Park Precinct - West Lakes (This course is for coaches who are female only)
• Sunday 15th March 2026 – 9.15am – 5.00pm - Footy Park Precinct - West Lakes

The South Australian Advanced Coaching Accreditation (formerly Level 3) for the 2025–2026 season is now open to coaches of both male and female programs who are currently coaching at a SANFL Club or a senior A Grade community team.

This elite accreditation program is designed to deepen coaching expertise across key areas of the game. Topics include:

• Coach the Environment – Building Culture and Relationships
• Coach the Game – Strategy and Game Day Coaching
• Coach at Training – Skill Acquisition and Activity Design

Eligibility: To nominate, coaches must have completed either the Level 2 Coaching Accreditation or the Elevate Workshop.

Via the COACH AFL website there are several online courses that coaches can complete to build their knowledge and obtain points towards their accreditation. Click below to see the wide range of online course available.

These often one of workshops provide coaches with the opportunity to learn from industry leaders.
