Unley Oval fence design survey: Have Your Say

Friday, July 27

SANFL STATEMENT

The City of Unley is now seeking feedback on proposed Unley Oval permanent fence design options.

This is the next significant step in the Council’s investigation into permanent perimeter fencing with public access openings for Unley Oval.

The feedback from the football community is important to help inform the Council’s next steps.

Currently for every SANFL match day at Unley, as well as AFLW games, Sturt Football Club is required to have costly and unattractive temporary fencing installed around one of our premier SANFL venues.

SANFL, together with the Sturt Football Club, fully supports the Council’s appropriate proposed design solutions which meet the needs of the Club on match days and the community at all other times.

Not only would this project greatly enhance the match day amenity at Unley Oval whilst preserving the character of Unley Oval for all of the community, we believe $30,000 a year can be far better spent on our game.

The design concepts, all ensuring multiple public access openings around Unley Oval, can now be viewed on the City of Unley’s Your Say website at https://yoursay.unley.sa.gov.au/fence-designs

Based on the design options, Sturt Football Club recommends:

  • Frederick St – Option 4
  • Langham Terrace – Option 2
  • Trimmer Terrace – Option 2

Show your support by completing the YourSay survey before the community consultation period closes at 11:59pm on Thursday July 10.
