Reigning premier Norwood will be seeking to gain momentum when it tackles arch-rival Port Adelaide in a battle for the Williams-Gallagher Cup at The Parade on Sunday.
Banking their first premiership points of the season with a hard-fought win against South Adelaide last Monday, the Redlegs desperately need to get on a roll if they are to push for September action.
With co-captain Jacob Kennerley returning in Round 9, the hosts are starting to form a more formidable line-up which this week could also include veteran defender Mitch Wilkins, who has recovered from a hand injury.
But the Magpies are also gaining traction, having won four of their past six matches under new coach Tyson Goldsack.
The return of former Redlegs Tom Jonas and Orazio Fantasia, who booted four goals against Central last round, to The Parade is sure to add plenty of spice for the red-and-blue faithful.
Port won the previous encounter between the two SANFL superpowers, edging the Redlegs out by seven points at Alberton in Round 5.
Prior to that meeting, Norwood has had the better of the rivalry though, winning seven of the previous eight games dating back to Round 6 of 2018.
