Skilled Careers Mark of the Year

By ZAC MILBANK

Glenelg forward Cory Gregson has won the Skilled Careers Mark of the Year for his spring-heeled effort against North Adelaide in Round 9.

Returning to the Tigers this season after 39 AFL games with Geelong, Gregson made the most of a perfect sit on Roosters captain Max Thring at ACH Group Stadium.

Standing at just 175cm, the 23-year-old soared high for the towering overhead mark which drew plenty of roars from the Tiger faithful on the Grandstand Wing.

Gregson’s great grab was captured perfectly by Bays club photographer Gordon Anderson, whose eye-catching chronological catalogue is displayed above.

The Tigers’ No.16 – who wins a $500 cash prize – edged out former team-mate Lachie Hosie and South Adelaide’s Liam Fitt, who were the other finalists short-listed in the top three.
