Central District young gun Dougie Cochrane headlines of a host of underage South Australian talent selected in the 2025 Marsh AFL and AFLW Futures Squads, set to take the field in September.
A total of sixteen players from South Australia have been selected in the 2025 Marsh AFL and AFLW Futures Squads, with each squad consisting of 46 players from every state and territory across Australia.
Glenelg forward Gabriel Patterson and South Adelaide ball-magnet Kodah Edwards are part of several inclusions for the Croweaters in the squad, whilst 2025 SA U18 Girls MVP Emma Charlton and 2025 U18 Girls Emerging Leader Taya Maxwell are just some of the SA underage talent included in the AFLW squad.
All players selected in the 2025 Marsh AFL National Futures squads are born in 2008 and will be eligible for selection in the 2026 Telstra AFL Draft and 2026 Telstra AFLW Draft.
The AFLW Futures Squad will play at Ikon Park in Melbourne from 10am on Sunday 14 September, prior to the NAB AFLW Round 5 Match between Richmond and Geelong.
Players will arrive in Melbourne on Friday, September 12, for a three-day camp, which will conclude with the showcase game on Sunday.
The AFL Futures Squad will be heading to the MCG on AFL Grand Final Day, with their match kicking off at 9:35am, with the squad coming together in Melbourne for a three-day camp from Friday, September 26.
Players were nominated for the Futures program by state talent programs, national selectors, and AFL and AFLW club recruiters, with selected players to go on and feature in the 2026 Marsh AFL National Academy.
