Norwood’s Shai Hiscock knows no other way than attacking the ball with ferocity across her 49 Hostplus SANFLW League games.
Originally a soccer player with Adelaide City FC, Hiscock was encouraged by then Norwood captain Bek McMahon to join the Redlegs for the start of the 2020 season.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 23-year-old said she was destined to play footy given her love for physical contact and giving 100 per cent for her teammates.
Amazingly, Hiscock made her SANFLW debut in Round 1 of 2020, the same match as teammate Jade Halfpenny, who will also reach her 50-game milestone against West Adelaide at The Parade on Saturday evening.
Highlighting the influence of McMahon and rising local coaching star Emma Sampson on her career, Hiscock is aiming to guide the Redlegs into another finals campaign in 2024.
Off the field, she relishes her role driving heavy vehicles at landscaping supplies/hire company north of Adelaide.
