SANFLW Coach Catch-Up – Glenelg’s Jason Fairall

Crows AFLW star Ebony Marinoff in action for Glenelg last year.

Glenelg’s SANFLW coach Jason Fairall has revealed star midfielder Ebony Marinoff is even more eager than last year to don the black and gold in the Statewide Super Women’s League.

The dual Crows AFLW premiership player lined up in three games for the Bays in 2019, pushing Fairall’s charges into the major round for the first time before narrowly losing the Elimination Final to North Adelaide.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, Fairall detailed Marinoff’s passion for the Tigers was rubbing off on the rest of his young playing group as it also prepares to welcome back fellow Crows Deni Varnhagen, Eloise Jones and Caitlin Gould.

While this quartet will be available to play at Brighton Road, Brisbane AFLW draftee Lucy Bellinger will remain in Queensland instead of returning this season.

Former South Adelaide pair Grace Duffy and Emily Woods have been among the Bays players to impress Fairall during the extended Covid-19 break in terms of maintaining their conditioning for the resumption of the season.

Currently sitting seventh on the table with a 1-3 win-loss record, the Tigers have little margin for error as they resume their campaign against competition heavyweights South Adelaide and North Adelaide in consecutive weeks.

On Sunday, Glenelg will tackle the Panthers at ACH Group Stadium in Round 5 before hosting the Roosters in Round 6 on Sunday July 5.
