SANFL’s AFL Draft class of 2026 will have an opportunity to shine in the U17 Futures match to be played at Adelaide Oval on Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final day.
Starting at 9am, the traditional clash between the Yellow and Blue team will be the curtain-raiser for the SANFL Reserves Grand Final starting at 11am.
Central District’s Jack Gordon and South’s Archie Van Dyk will be looking to get the ball moving from the middle for the Yellow Team, particularly if ruckman Ethan Herbert can get first touch.
SANFL U16 Best and Fairest Laurence Andriani will be another key midfielder on the Yellow team, together with SA U16 vice captain Taj Garrett and athletic prospect Zemes Pilot, from South Adelaide.
Players to watch on the Blue team include Panthers pair Angus White and Kodah Edwards in the centre square, together with hard-working Tiger Jacob McNicol.
SA U16 captain Harvey Chapman in defence, SA U16 MVP Hugo Semmler in the ruck and Bulldog Billy Nicholls, the younger brother of Fremantle draftee Charlie will be other to watch on the Blue team.
Final line-ups for the Yellow and Blue teams are below with the Blue team to be coached by Glenelg’s Jarred Chaplin while the Yellow side will be guided by Norwood’s Rhys Holloway.
Central’s Dougie Cochrane will line up in the SANFL U17 Futures match on Sunday.
