SANFL is set to scour the state for talented Under-15 Indigenous and Multicultural boys and girls to trial for the AFL Diversity Talent ID program.
Starting on Wednesday March 10 in the Riverland, SANFL Head of Talent Brenton Phillips and SANFL Diversity Manager Shawn Ford will begin testing the best teens from regional SA, including Yorke Peninsula, Port Lincoln and Mount Gambier.
Once the statewide screening has concluded, SANFL’s selection panel will choose players to attend a trial at Thebarton Oval on Wednesday April 21 (Boys) and Thursday April 22 (Girls).
Following the Thebarton Oval trials, SANFL will nominate players to the AFL, who will invite these boys and girls to transition into their 2021 National Leadership Programs – Flying Boomerangs and World Team programs for the boys and Woomeras and Medleys Teams for the girls.
The AFL Diversity Talent ID Program, Flying Boomerangs, World Team, Woomeras and Medleys are part of the elite development pathway designed to give participants a unique opportunity to develop their football skills whilst gaining exposure to a leadership and cultural program encouraging their personal development.
