SANFL wishes to congratulate Kevin Curran on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his services to Australian Rules Football.
A Life Member of the South Australian Community Football League, Kevin has been an outstanding contributor to football in South Australia for close to 60 years.
Still currently acting as the Treasurer for the Great Southern Football League, Kevin has been involved with many different committees and councils aligned to SANFL, South Australian Community Football League and the Great Southern Football League.
SANFL also congratulates South Australians Erin Phillips, Ian Cox and Tony Irvine on their Queen’s Birthday Honours announced on Monday.
Erin was fittingly awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for her services to Australian Rules Football, as well as basketball. A dual AFLW best-and-fairest and premiership winner with the Adelaide Football Club, Erin has been a wonderful ambassador for Women’s football in South Australia.
Ian has deservedly been recognised as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his two decades of service to Australian Football at club level, including Glenelg in the SANFL and Brighton in the Adelaide Football League, as well as his tireless work assisting homeless in the community.
Tony, who received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), has been heavily involved with the Far West Football League as well as acting as the chairperson of the Eyre Peninsula Football Council since 2019.
