West Adelaide defeated South Adelaide by 21 points in a low-scoring affair at Hisense Stadium.
In wet and windy conditions, goals were hard to come by for both teams, however the Bloods had their noses in front all night.
West’s Hamish Hudson’s two goals were vital in the context of the game, so too was the effort of Bloods midfielder Laurence Andriani who tallied 36 disposals, six marks and 11 clearances.
South’s Jayce Potter found plenty of the ball, gathering a game-high 41 disposals and nine rebound 50s, while teammate Hudson Boal laid 14 tackles.

A brilliant individual display from Sturt’s Taj Garrett helped the Double Blues overcome Norwood by seven points at The Parade.
Sturt led at every change and kicked three goals early in the last quarter to extend the margin to 29 points, however, Norwood responded with the next three to give the Double Blues a late fright.
Garrett was everywhere for Sturt and finished with 40 disposals, four goals and eight clearances in a clear best-on-ground performance.
Sturt’s Jacob Westley (30 disposals and six rebound 50s) also found plenty of the footy, while George Serocki was Norwood’s best with 26 disposals and five rebound 50s.
North Adelaide made it four wins on the trot with a 39-point triumph over Glenelg at Prospect Oval.
The Tigers recorded more kicks, marks and clearances than the Roosters, but the home side was far more effective moving forward, generating 47 inside 50s to Glenelg’s 24.
North restricted the visitors to just four scoring shots and did enough at the other end to secure the premiership points, Archie Simpson and Angas Wilton booting two goals apiece.
Roosters midfielder Blake Amos impressed with 26 disposals, 14 tackles and seven clearances, while Ryder Lindner accumulated 35 touches for the Bays.
