Round 1 Hostplus SANFL League fixture revealed

SANFL’s past two premiership teams will launch the 2023 Hostplus League in style with a blockbuster Round 1 clash under lights at The Parade on March 31.

Norwood will unfurl its 2022 Premiership Flag when it hosts Woodville-West Torrens for the enticing Friday night season-opener, ahead of four matches being played on Saturday April 1.

Plenty of interest surrounds how the Redlegs will respond after their thrilling one-point Grand Final victory last year while the Eagles are itching to rebound from a rare major-round absence.

Sturt is preparing to tackle Glenelg at Wigan Oval in a rematch of the 2022 Elimination Final while North Adelaide will begin its quest for redemption against the Adam Hartlett-coached West Adelaide at Prospect Oval.

South Adelaide will unveil its recruits at Flinders University Stadium against a new-look Central District outfit, with its game starting at 2.10pm in line with the match-ups between the Tigers and Double Blues and Roosters and Bloods.

Fierce foes Port Adelaide and Adelaide will then square off in a SANFL Showdown at Adelaide Oval from 3.30pm, in what promises to be a salivating curtain-raiser for the AFL Showdown at 7pm.

The complete 2023 SANFL and SANFLW Hostplus League fixtures, including PDFs for download, will be released on SANFL’s website early next week.

North Adelaide’s Campbell Combe fires out a handball against West Adelaide last season. The Roosters will host the Bloods in Round 1 of the 2023 SANFL Hostplus League season.
