North Adelaide fan favourite Mitch Harvey is set to tick off his final major milestone on Saturday whilst declaring he wants to play ”as long as I can.”
Since his 150th match in 2022, the Roosters’ giant has represented his State on two occasions, earned selection in The Advertiser Team of the Year and claimed his maiden Ken Farmer Medal.
Now the 29-year-old will chalk up his 200th Hostplus SANFL League match when he runs out against South Adelaide at Magain Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, Harvey said he was determined to feature in another senior premiership with the Roosters, having endured Grand Final losses in 2020 and 2022 after claiming a cherished medallion in 2018.
That memorable season will be forever etched in Harvey’s memory as his beloved Roosters came from a wooden spoon in 2017 and fifth spot at the end of the minor round to upset Norwood in the title-decider.
Boasting the ability to have an impact in the ruck as well as inside 50m, Harvey now has the highest current active streak of most consecutive games played in the Hostplus SANFL League with 138.
Sturt captain James Battersby had his streak broken last weekend on 149, giving North’s affable No.17 something else to chase down in 2025.
