South Adelaide’s Liam Fitt has become accustomed to evolving on his pathway towards his 100th Hostplus SANFL League game on Saturday.
Set to reach triple figures against Glenelg at Stratarama Stadium, the strongly-built forward reflected on key guidance he received during his stint with the Panthers’ U16 and U18 programs.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 25-year-old hailed his coaches at that time – Tony Bamford and Julian Farkas – for providing him with the knowledge on how to deal with his changing body as he grew into his hulking frame.
Fitt has since embraced his powerful stature, which has led to him booting 137 goals from his 99 appearances since making his League debut in 2018.
Boasting one of the longest kicks in the competition, the left-footer nominated his two eye-catching majors in 2021 as his favourites in the clips below, one of which landing the 2021 Channel 7 Adelaide SANFL Goal of the Year.
Originally from the Morphettville Park Football Club, Fitt is now eyeing off the next step in his development – a potential shift into the midfield.
Suddenly one of the more experienced players in the Panthers’ line-up, his presence in the centre square could provide vital protection for the younger players emerging at Noarlunga.
South’s No.31 continues to maintain his own fitness off the field, running his own business – Fitt Plumbing and Gas Solutions.
