It’s been a long and winding journey to 100 Hostplus SANFL League games for Woodville-West Torrens fan favourite Jimmy Toumpas.

With three premiership medallions in his cabinet, it could be easy for the 28-year-old to be thinking about retirement.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, Toumpas is far from a spent force after shrugging his calf ailment which delayed reaching his triple-figure milestone a fortnight ago.

Having banked his first medallion as an 18-year-old in just his fifth League game – the 2011 SANFL Grand Final – Toumpas admits he appreciated the 2020 flag win against North Adelaide much more with a wealth of experience under his belt.

Now the No.4 AFL Draft pick is hungry for more success as the Eagles chase an historic three-peat of premierships in 2022.

First order of business will be for Toumpas to help his side overcome Glenelg at ACH Group Stadium in his milestone match.

Having previously worked in real estate, Toumpas is now enjoying his role as South Australia’s AFL Players Association Regional Manager where he can pass on his experiences from lining up with Melbourne and Port Adelaide at elite level.
