Bring on SANFL’s Super Saturday – and win an Ultimate Grand Final experience

By ZAC MILBANK

Excitement is reaching fever pitch as SANFL’s Super Saturday looms as the perfect conclusion to the Hostplus SANFL League minor round on August 26.

With all five games starting at 2.10pm, Round 18 promises to be a spectacular finish as final ladder positions are determined in the race for the Minor Premiership and a berth in the Elimination Final.

And if that wasn’t enough to draw fans through the turnstiles for the last home-and-away fixtures, a chance to win the Ultimate Hostplus SANFL Grand Final Experience, courtesy of The Advertiser, certainly will be.

To enter, simply scan the QR code at any of the Round 18 SANFL venues on Saturday to go into the draw to not only enjoy the biggest day on the SANFL calendar but also beat the cost of living crunch with a $1000 Coles Voucher and $300 National Pharmacies Voucher.

At the 2023 Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final, the winning entrant will receive four tickets while having access to an exclusive behind-the-scenes matchday experience, which includes the opportunity to deliver the game ball to the umpires before the first bounce.

The winner will also be treated to the VIP Wine Bar and Garden during the match, including a $50 food and beverage voucher, as well as a night’s accommodation at the Oval Hotel after the game.

Valued at $3500, the total prize package also includes a 12-month subscription to The Advertiser.

But first the combatants for the title-decider must be finalised, with Glenelg in the box seat to claim the minor premiership with a win against South Adelaide in the SANFL Super Match at Stratarama Stadium.

Star Tigers forward Lachie Hosie has all but sewn up the Ken Farmer Medal as the competition’s leading goal kicker at the end of the minor round with 50 majors, 11 ahead of teammate Liam McBean and Sturt goalsneak Josh Hone.

Should the Bays succumb to the Panthers, second-placed Adelaide can snare top-spot with a victory against Norwood at The Parade with its superior percentage proving pivotal.

Sturt will confront North Adelaide at Prospect Oval and while the Double Blues are guaranteed a place in the Qualifying Final, the Roosters can seal their place in the elimination final with victory.

Central District hosts Port Adelaide in the Multicultural Match at X Convenience Oval, as both clubs celebrate the emergence of past and present Multicultural players in the SANFL Hostplus League.

The Bulldogs must win to play in September for the first time since 2017 while the Magpies will be equally desperate for the premiership points as they must rely on North losing to Sturt should they succumb to the Dogs.

At Maughan Thiem Kia Oval, Woodville-West Torrens fans will have the opportunity to bid farewell to dual premiership coach Jade Sheedy as he takes charge for the final time against West Adelaide.
