Adelaide key forward Nate McCleary kicked a behind in extra time to give his side a thrilling one-point win against Port Adelaide at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.
With little between the two sides throughout the contest, it was McCleary who booted the golden point from his 45m set shot in the 26th minute to give the Crows a hard-fought victory.
Despite trailing at the opening two changes, the Crows managed edge in front by three quarter time as their weight of having six more scoring shots proving pivotal in the end result.
Played at Woodville as part of the Gather Round festivities, the annual clash provides players from SANFL’s AAMI Talent League Boys U16 competition the opportunity to represent Adelaide and Port Adelaide’s Next Generation Academies.
Players from Sturt, Glenelg, North Adelaide and Central District will line up for the Crows, while players from South Adelaide, West Adelaide, Norwood and Woodville-West Torrens will represent the Power.
