The 2025 season of the SANFL APY League will come to a head this Saturday when the Mimili Blues take on the Finke Crows in the Grand Final at Pukatja Oval from 1pm.

Spanning over 200,000km in remote South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia, the APY League is an integral part of SANFL’s First Nations football programs.

The SANFL APY League Grand Final is one of the earliest football deciders in 2025, timed to avoid Central Australia’s intense spring heat.

Season 2025 saw Finke finish third with seven wins, three losses and one draw – ending the minor season with a percentage of 73.67 per cent – whilst Mimili finished in fourth with six wins, three losses and two draws, finishing with a percentage of 73.72 per cent.

The Blues defeated Amata by 19-points in the second semi-final to head the big dance, whilst the Crows convincingly got the better of Amata in the preliminary final with a 55-point win.

Mimili and Finke were scheduled to play each other in Round 2; however, the match was cancelled, meaning the grand final is the first time Mimili and Finke have come up against each other this season.

Elsewhere, the Pukatja Magpies will take on the Mimili Blues in the SANFL APY League Senior Women’s Softball Grand Final, also on Saturday August 30 at Pukatja Oval from 12pm.
