An inaugural premiership, one kick shy of a second flag in last year’s Grand Final. It’s fair to say Norwood is a powerhouse of the Statewide Super Women’s League and the Redlegs are doing everything in their power to make sure it stays that way.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, Norwood coach Steve Symonds said he was keen to bolster his midfield division, which he has done by enticing former Crow Sophie Armistead across from West Adelaide.
Canberra-based pair Hannah Dunn and Najwah Allen – who have both spent time in the AFLW with GWS – have also landed at The Parade, together with a trio of Morphettville Park recruits in Erika Sporn, Thalia Meyer and Hannah Priest.
Symonds said the Redlegs have been training since November last year, mindful that season 2019 will start later and extend longer than last year’s campaign.
Norwood will begin its 2019 premiership charge with a clash against last year’s Preliminary Finalist North Adelaide, at City Mazda Stadium, on Friday February 15.
