SANFL Budget reaches its ton

By PETER CORNWALL

There’s always been a ton of passion for SANFL, our wonderful competition with a ton of history.

And our favourite magazine the Football Budget reaches its ton this year.

Volume 100, No. 1 has the 10 skippers on the cover, answers the 10 burning questions on what to expect for the year ahead, lists all the player movements over the summer and there’s an interview with the man
in the hot seat as the new West Adelaide coach Nathan Bassett.

The Budget, 100 not out and still a big part of your footy day experience.

As flag threat Norwood and reigning premier Sturt prepare to square off in the season opener, Dion Hayman steps back in time to when these old rivals played out a controversial draw in Round 1 of the 1981 season at The Parade.

We take a look back at Volume 1, No. 1 of the Budget, while State coaches Martin Mattner and Narelle Smith look ahead to a big year of interstate clashes.

There’s a Sturt premiership poster and, of course, there are all the teams, tables and the fixture.

The Budget, 100 not out and still a big part of your footy day experience.
