SANFL APY Lands League Grand Final Preview

By ZAC MILBANK

The Musgrave Suns will tackle the Indulkana Tigers in an intriguing SANFL APY Lands League Grand Final at Ernabella on Saturday.

Entering the competition for the first time in 2022, the youthful Suns – including players from Amata and Ernabella – have been super impressive in their first season.

Coached by Reuben Burton, who is chasing his fourth APY Lands crown, the Suns finished minor premier with star forward Basso Edwards proving to be a key focal point in attack as the League’s leading goal kicker.

Musgrave snuck through to the title-decider after a pulsating victory in the Preliminary Final, with Lloyd Miller kicking a goal with just 20 seconds on the clock to hold off Mimili.

The Tigers – coached by Bernard Singer – have rebounded from a disappointing 2021 campaign to place second in the minor round.

They will take plenty of confidence after defeating the Suns in the Second Semi-Final to earn a direct passage through to the Grand Final, with Kupa Henry and Adrian Peel providing plenty of action for the highlight reel.
