2021 SANFL Skills Program – April School Holidays

SANFL’s Advanced Skills Development program is back for the April School Holidays after a successful introduction in 2020.

As many as 145 teenagers attended last year’s sessions held in May, June and July, gaining expert tuition from SANFL’s Talent Development Coaches.

Designed to give South Australia’s promising youth players exposure to underage sSate coaches, the SANFL Advanced Skills Development Program involves boys and girls gaining wide experience while being exposed to different drills and skills.

Managed by SANFL Head of Talent Brenton Phillips, the program also includes SA U19 Coach Tony Bamford, SA U17 Coach Julian Farkas and SANFL Female Talent Manager Robbie Neill along with other specialised mentors.

Set to be held at Thebarton Oval on Monday April 19 and Tuesday April 20, this year’s program is already sold out for the U12-U13 group, with places filling fast for the U14 and U15s.

Last year’s crop included Ned Atkinson, the son of Magarey Medallist Brodie Atkinson, who is now currently playing with Sturt in the U16 Torrens University Cup.
