The son of the Power’s inaugural John Cahill Medallist Darren Mead, Jackson Mead is a very different style of player compared to his father, who was a consistent tall defender. A smooth-moving midfielder who can deliver the ball by hand or foot with precision, Mead also loves a goal. This was evident when he booted four in the 2018 Torrens University Cup Grand Final to claim the Alan Stewart Medal as a ”bottom-ager”. This year, Mead made his Statewide Super League debut, was an U18 All-Australian whilst also acting as a key member of the Torrens University SA U18 leadership group. Nominated by Port Adelaide as a father-son selection.
