Terry Julian is the ultimate clubman.

His beloved Macclesfield Football Club described him as “the example we hold up as the epitome of the ultimate clubman”.

Since the age of 10, Terry has been involved in football, which includes over 250 senior games and life membership at two clubs.

Following his playing days, Terry immediately started giving back to his club, which included:

  • Coaching U10s, U12, U14 and U17
  •  Junior director
  • B Grade Goal Umpire
  • Timekeeper
  • B Grade Coach

“My wife Kris and I moved from Aldgate to Macclesfield in 1984,” Terry explained.

“After living here for a couple of years, I decided that I wanted to play my football locally, so I joined the club as a player and then later started coaching the Under 12s, junior and senior colts.

“We didn’t have a lot of success, but we certainly had a lot of fun.

“I still get players coming up to me twenty years later saying how much they enjoyed it.”

In 2004, Terry joined the Macclesfield Football Club Committee as the Bar Manager, a role he still holds today 21 years later.

"A lot of people have put a lot of work into the Macclesfield Football Club, and I am just one of those people."

His unwavering passion for Macclesfield is evident; Terry is always the first person to put his hand up when something needs doing and is the first and loudest to offer support and encouragement for players of all age groups.

Terry’s commitment to football has seen him be awarded two life memberships – to Colonel Light Gardens Football Club in 2000, and to Macclesfield Football Club in 2008.

Unsurprisingly, he was also inducted into Macclesfield’s Hall of Fame in 2023 for his services to the club.

“A lot of people have put a lot of work into the Macclesfield Football Club, and I am just one of those people,” Terry said.
