Central District kicked its highest score in nine years with a rampaging 76-point win against North Adelaide at Prospect Oval.

Booting a massive 23.9 (147) on the back of a seven-goal opening quarter, the Bulldogs were able to keep the Roosters at arm’s length throughout before earning valuable percentage after half-time.

Paul Thomas’ charges kicked a whopping 13.5 in the second half as 11 Dogs landed on the goal scorers list, which included at least seven players with multiple majors.

After a quiet performance in Round 2, Aiden Grace responded well with four goals to headline those who hit the scoreboard for the visitors as Beau Thomas, Jake Gasper and Mani Liddy each booted three.

Liddy was outstanding with his finishing on the run for Central, while also collecting 23 disposals, six marks and six tackles.

Bulldog Harry Grant racked up a match-high 30 disposals and seven clearances while the rangy Luca Whitelum caught the eye with 20 disposals and two majors.

The Dogs dominated key stat categories such as marks (103 to 71) and inside 50s (57-38) as they banked their second win of the season.

North was within 20 points at half-time but a poor third quarter, which yielded just two behinds, proved pivotal in the final result.

Star midfield recruit Angus Schumacher tallied 23 disposals and two goals while Zavier Maher had 20 touches for the hosts.

North’s Frank Szekely was efficient with four goals from eight kicks but he didn’t have much assistance in scoring for the home side.

Adelaide held its nerve late in the contest to edge out a fast-finishing Glenelg by four points at Stratarama Stadium.

Leading at every change and by 17 points when captain Jack Madgen converted a set shot seven minutes into the final term, the Crows were forced to withstand a bold charge by the Bays.

Tiger Matt Allen baulked and steadied nicely for a goal to trim the margin under two majors before Luke Reynolds used his sharp-shooting skills to nail a tough set shot near the boundary.

With the margin under a goal, Adelaide managed to hold on for five minutes by ensuring Glenelg couldn’t gain any fluency with its ball movement, such was the case throughout the match.

The Crows benefited from Lachlan McAndrew’s dominance in the ruck as he tallied a massive 51 hit outs to give his midfielders plenty of opportunity.

Adelaide had five more clearances than the Tigers as Blake Drury and Charlie Edwards each racked up 24 disposals, the former also collecting eight clearances and eight tackles.

Billy Dowling chalked up 23 disposals and two goals while Harry Schoenberg and Brodie Smith were steady contributors with 22 touches each.

Madgen finished with three goals for the visitors while Burgess matched Dowling with two.

Glenelg – without first-choice players Patrick Parnell (chest) and Darcy Bailey (groin) – had Corey Lyons and Jonty Scharenberg tally 23 possessions while Luke Partington had 22.

Veteran Jarryd Lyons had 21 disposals and a classy crumb and finish on the run in the third quarter to keep the Bays in touch.

Captain Liam McBean kicked a contender for Channel 7 Goal of the Week with a dribbler off his left foot among his four majors while Reynolds also booted four and Lachie Hosie two.

Woodville-West Torrens used its handball game to positive effect in its 38-point victory against West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium.

The Eagles only had nine more kicks than the Bloods but a significant 55 more handballs which translated into 13 more inside 50 entries as the visitors ran their opponents off their feet.

Leading at every change, the Eagles withstood a bright start from the hosts who booted two early goals after not managing a major in the first half of their first two contests in 2025.

Premiership midfielder Kobe Mutch enjoyed the space through the corridor to collect 29 disposals and kick a nice goal on the run after a centre clearance while James Rowe was busy with 28 disposals and a goal.

Zane Williams had 25 disposals and a major for the Eagles while Max Beattie has settled nicely into his rebounding defender role with 24 disposals and eight marks.

Inform bigman Connor Ballenden booted three goals for the visitors while Luke McKay, Daniel Sladojevic and Sam Nicholls each kicked two.

The Bloods put in a much more spirited display, particularly in winning the final term by scoring 4.3 to 2.5.

Co-captain Sam Frost had 29 disposals and 10 marks for West while Kobe Ryan had 24 touches and eight marks.

Rebounding West defender Callum Park collected 24 disposals and 12 marks while Jonti Schuback had 22 disposals and 10 marks.

Liam Delahunty hauled in 12 marks for the Bloods while Tom Scully booted four of his team’s nine majors for the match.

Port Adelaide secured its first win of the season, holding off a brave South Adelaide by 21 points at Alberton.

With North Melbourne VFL recruit Jack Watkins on fire for the Magpies and skipper Nick Moore hitting the scoreboard with four majors, the hosts were able to hold the Panthers at bay.

Watkins kicked an eye-catching goal on the run after taking three bounces to stretch his team’s lead out to 32 points nearing the 30th minute of the third quarter.

But South refused to concede as it kicked four of the last six goals of the game to display plenty of spirit.

This was illustrated by the visitors playing with one less rotation for almost the entire contest, losing forward Eamon Wilkinson to a groin strain in the opening minute.

Watkins finished with a game-high 34 disposals, seven clearances and six marks to go with his great solo run while Joe Berry had a sprightly Hostplus SANFL League debut with 23 touches and two goals.

Moore tallied 23 disposals with his four goals while Dante Visentini (22 disposals, one goal, 24 hit outs) had an entertaining battle with counterpart Olivier Northam (15 disposals, one goal, 21 hit outs) in the ruck.

Hard-working Oliver Davis collected 28 disposals and 13 clearances for South while Jaiden Magor had 23 possessions and seven marks.

Classy Phoenix Hargrave impressed with 16 disposals and two checkside goals while Noah Howes and Corey Grocock booted three goals each for the Panthers.
