Round 7 of 2022.
In a great display of durability, it is the only match South Adelaide’s Morgan Johnston has missed en route to her 50th Hostplus SANFLW League match on Sunday.
And even then, it was largely out of the Panthers’ midfielder’s control as she was deemed a ”close contact” of someone who had Covid-19.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 31-year-old revealed she wasn’t aware she was approaching her milestone before being contacted to be interviewed.
Such is her manner of going about her role with minimum fuss, Johnston has loved her time playing with Norwood and South Adelaide since relocating from the Northern Territory.
Originally from Katherine in the NT, Johnston joined the Redlegs for the start of the 2021 campaign after being enticed down by then coach Mat Creeper.
Since then, the Ultimate Frisbee enthusiast has forged a reputation as one of the most consistent and hard-running midfielders in the competition.
Joining the Panthers at the start of the season, she has enjoyed playing under the guidance of premiership coach Rick Watts as she looks to help her side go one step better in 2024.
And that begins with a vital win in her milestone match against North Adelaide at Prospect on Sunday.
