There isn’t much Sturt’s Alysha Healy hasn’t adjusted to on her journey to 50 Hostplus SANFLW League games.
Preparing to reach her milestone in the Double Blues’ first semi-final against Norwood on Sunday, Healy initially had to come to terms with a very different climate after moving to Adelaide from Darwin.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 22-year-old played her first three years of football for Waratahs in the NTFL before arriving at Unley for the start of the 2019 SANFLW season.
Not only was the weather much colder in South Australia, the football differences with a much more structured style in the SANFLW tested Healy’s versatility.
And if that wasn’t enough, the Exercise Physiologist handled a significant shift from defence into attack to start the 2021 campaign.
The speedy left-footer now is regularly on the goal-scoring list for the Double Blues, nominating her major from the boundary in last year’s Preliminary Final – featured in the clip below – as her most memorable six-pointer.
