SANFL Community Football will establish a South East Football Council to manage and represent the three Leagues in the region.
In a bid to assist with resource sharing and developing ideas, the South East Football Council will assist with the governance of the Western Border Football League, Kowree Naracoorte Tatitara Football League and Mid South East Football League.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, Community Football Manager Matt Duldig said the SE Football Council would also act in an advisory capacity supporting SANFL’s strategic vision.
In addition, a full-time South East Football Operations Co-ordinator will be employed to help administer the three Leagues and therefore assisting with lightening the load of tireless volunteers.
The new position will also assist with club development in the region, to ensure football remains the No.1 sport for youngsters beginning their sporting journey.
This will ensure clubs are seen as effective, well respected in the community and are complying with SANFL policy and regulation.
With the SE Football Council set to be established, Duldig said the next step would be to introduce similar structures in other regions such as the Riverland, Barossa, Eyre and Yorke Peninsula.
