SANFL INCIDENT REVIEW PANEL

Woodville-West Torrens midfielder Jack Gaffney unsuccessfully challenged a two-game ban at the SANFL Tribunal for engaging in rough conduct with West’s Jack Agostino on Saturday. He will miss the Eagles’ next two matches.

POWERADE BREAKTHROUGH PLAYER NOMINEES

Nominees for the Round 2 Powerade Breakthrough Player

Jack Hayes (Eagles) – Hayes was outstanding in the forward line and in ruck with 21 disposals, 8 marks to go with his 4.2. Hayes showcased his strong marking ability and presence up forward while having a major impact on the scoreboard. Pack marking was a feature of his game, while also pinch- hitting in the ruck with three clearances.

Joseph Sinor (Eagles) – Playing a small defensive role, Sinor collected 25 disposals, 10 marks and four rebound 50s. Joe played an excellent game in firstly shutting down his opponents and providing plenty of attacking run from defence.

Alex Martini (Glenelg) – Showing great poise and composure for an 18-year-old, Martini strung together his second consecutive impressive performance for the Tigers. The medium-sized defender finished with 18 disposals, five marks and a goal.
Each Round’s nomination for the Powerade Breakthrough Player of the Week will be revealed in the Channel 7 telecast of the SANFL Macca’s League game of the week. Round 3’s telecast match will be Central v Adelaide at My Money House Oval from 2.40pm on Saturday.

TORRENS UNI U18 CUP NOMINEE

The Round 2 U18 Torrens Uni Cup MVP nominee is North Adelaide’s Connor Rozee. Originally from the Broadview Football Club, Rozee racked up a staggering 39 disposals, six marks, 11 tackles and a goal against Central on Thursday night.

BANKSA ROOKIES

There were two BankSA Rookies in Round 2 of the SANFL Macca’s League.
