SANFL acknowledges one of its former greats, SA Football Hall of Fame member Jack Lynch, who passed away last week.

Also a SANFL Player Life Member, Jack was an extremely loyal player the West Adelaide Football Club with an illustrious 149-game career between 1948 and 1958, winning the club’s best first-year player and its best and fairest award in his last season.

Noted for his smooth ball handling skills and use of the ball off the foot, Jack represented South Australia on 16 occasions and was selected in The Advertiser Team of the Year three times. In 2018 Jack was inducted into the West Adelaide Team of the Century.

He will be fondly remembered as a true gentleman who made an outstanding contribution to the game in South Australia.
