North Adelaide has found the ideal replacement for premiership forward Robbie Young, with delisted Power goalsneak Jake Neade signing on for 2019.

Featuring in 66 AFL games and booting 55 goals for the Power since 2013, Neade will add some invaluable goal kicking prowess inside 50 at Prospect next year.

The 24-year-old – who has also played 51 SANFL games and kicked 63 goals – will provide similar excitement to that produced by Young, who was selected by St Kilda in the AFL National Draft.

Measuring in at 174cm and 74kg, Neade hails from the remote Northern Territory town of Elliott, which is home to about 350 people.

The classy indigenous forward has since settled nicely in Adelaide, where he has been based on Port Adelaide’s senior list for the past six years.

North Adelaide development coach Jacob Surjan, who played a role in nurturing Neade while working at Alberton, said he was excited to secure his services.

”We are rapt to have Jake at our football club as (senior coach) Josh (Carr) and myself have a strong relationship with him,” Surjan said.

”Jake will bring toughness, pressure and creativity to our group which will complement what we already have in place.”

Neade should fit in nicely among North’s star-studded forward line featuring premiership quartet Lewis Hender, Alex Barns, Mitch Harvey and Keenan Ramsey.
