ZAC’S ONE TO WATCH

Tom Schott (Glenelg)

If ever there is a good story of persistence, this is it.

Originally from the remote SA outback town of Andamooka, Tom Schott made his Macca’s League debut with West Adelaide in 2013 and only managed three League games with the Bloods until moving to Glenelg at the start of last year.

After failing to break into the Tigers’ League team in 2017, Schott has played all three of the Bays’ matches under new coach Mark Stone, culminating in his breakthrough match on Saturday night. Against the Redlegs, the 23-year-old collected 34 disposals and two goals in his team’s win at Gliderol Stadium to suggest he has a bright future at the level.
