Woodville-West Torrens forward Jack Lukosius has displayed his immense talent by dominating the McDonald’s SA Under-18 internal trial match at City Mazda Stadium on Saturday morning.
Charged with playing in defence, the Eagles’ teenager controlled the play from centre half-back during the first half before being shifted to the wing after half-time to positive effect.
Lukosius finished with a match-high 25 disposals, 14 marks and six inside 50s in showing his extreme versatility.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, McDonald’s SA Under-18 coach Tony Bamford was also pleased with the performance of inside midfielders Tom Sparrow and Tom Lewis while another highly-touted potential draftee, Jackson Hately, was a polished performer with three majors.
Central District’s Malachai Ahmatt-Lovett is another to keep an eye on this year, with the crafty goalsneak kicking three goals for the Blue team.
Bamford said the SANFL Talent Department had also formed a list of players not involved in the Academy to monitor during the first part of the season, with selection spots up for grabs before the 2018 AFL National Championships.
