A dominant display at centre-half forward has propelled North Adelaide’s Katelyn Rosenzweig to the the Round 2 Powerade Breakthrough Player nomination.
Arguably best-on-ground in the Roosters’ convincing 42-point win, Rosenzweig made her first imprint on the match with a fine checkside goal off the outside of her boot.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 17-year-old said she was relishing her shift from defence into attack after having a pre-season discussion with coach Matt Slade.
Rosenzweig finished with seven shots on goal for 3.4 to go with her 14 disposals, six marks and six inside 50s as she shot to the top of the SANFL Statewide Super Women’s League Leading Goalkickers list.
Starting her football journey at the age of 9 as a fill-in for the boys team at Hamley Bridge FC, the key forward said she was inspired to play after watching her dad and uncles play country football as a child.
