KEN FARMER SCULPTURE UNVEILING

North Adelaide champion Ken Farmer has been immortalised in bronze, with his sculpture unveiled outside of Adelaide Oval’s northern entrance on Friday evening.

The late Roosters spearhead has been carefully crafted by talented artist Ken Martin, who also completed the Barrie Robran sculpture, which sits proudly outside of the southern entrance to the home of SA football.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, Martin said the entire process to create the sculpture took nine months, with attention to detail an important factor in the design.

Martin revealed he studied many photographs in order to capture Farmer’s mannerisms as well as reading historical documents to gain an insight into his character.

Farmer’s sculpture is the fourth and final one revealed at the Adelaide Oval with the others capturing the movements of fellow North Adelaide great Robran, four-time Magarey Medallist Russell Ebert and Australian Football Hall of Fame Legend Malcolm Blight.
