Glenelg will host Adelaide at the Bordertown Oval in Round 15 of the Macca’s League on Sunday July 30.
The Tigers have now inked in the contest, which will start at the earlier time of 1.10pm to allow for fans to travel back home to Adelaide after the final siren.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, Glenelg chief executive Glenn Elliott said it was important to recognise those in the club’s south-east regional zone.
As a result, the Tigers also plan to play an annual pre-season match in Mount Gambier while also conducting a series of workshops with local club administrators, coaches and volunteers.
Those workshops would focus on key areas such as governance, finance, communications and coaching with presentations conducted by Bays staff members such as Elliott and senior coach Matt Lokan.
A yet to be finalised curtain-raiser featuring local talent will take place before the bounce, with Elliott also revealing the club could rotate the fixture against the Crows between Bordertown and Keith on an annual basis.
Glenelg currently has several players in its Macca’s League team from its south-east zone, including captain Andrew Bradley, reliable defender Brad Agnew and emerging young gun Darcy Fogarty.
Since 2003, the Tigers have also been servicing their regional zone through a series of junior talent academies in Naracoorte, Millicent, Bordertown and Mount Gambier.
