The SANFL History Centre is seeking information about a mystery football which was painted by Indigenous artist Susan Betts in 2001.

Set to be a part of the SANFL’s 140-year exhibition at the State Library from June 6 to August 13, the colourful football was previously displayed in a cabinet in the Magarey Room at Football Park.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, SANFL History Centre Manager Chris Halbert said she had been unable to contact Mrs Betts, who is the auntie of Crows star Eddie Betts.

Mrs Halbert also chats about preparations for the 140-year exhibition, which will also include a series of one-on-one interviews which have been conducted by respected commentators Keith Conlon and Roger Wills with SA’s biggest names in football.

Stay tuned to the SANFL website for each Friday Flashback segment, which will either feature an item or a video clip set to be showcased in the 140-year exhibition.
