Glenelg’s Brianna Walling loves nothing more than watching her team-mates excel in the SANFL Statewide Super Women’s League.

The Round 4 nominee for the Powerade Star Search award, Walling has a penchant for winning the ball in traffic through the midfield before setting her fellow Tigers up with creative use of the ball.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 17-year-old said she was enjoying playing and training with senior stars Courtney Gum and Lexia Edwards at Brighton Road.

Growing up in a football family, Walling – at Reynella FC – was the only girl playing in the Southern Football League’s Under-14 competition.

But after overcoming some initial fears, she ended up winning the Best-and-Fairest award for the Wineflies.

Now a member of the powerful Morphettville Park FC team, Walling – who measures in at just 163cm and 50kg – is currently studying Year 12 with the hope of being a criminologist or interior designer.
